- What Is a Clipping Path?
The gold standard of background removal
A clipping path is a closed vector outline drawn around a subject using the Photoshop pen tool. It allows you to isolate the subject from its background, removing, replacing, or compositing it onto any surface with pixel-perfect precision.
Unlike AI auto-select tools that leave fuzzy edges, a hand-drawn clipping path follows every contour of your product with absolute accuracy. It is the industry standard for eCommerce, catalogs, print production, and professional photography.

Clipping path questions, answered
What is a clipping paths?
A clipping paths is a closed vector outline drawn around an object using the Photoshop pen tool. It separates the subject from its background, allowing removal, replacement, or isolation. It is the industry standard for product photography and eCommerce image editing, delivering razor-sharp edges that AI tools simply cannot match.
How much does clipping paths service cost?
Our hand-drawn clipping path service starts at $0.29/image for simple subjects. Medium complexity costs $0.59, complex subjects $0.99, and super-complex items $1.29 per image. Bulk orders of 500+ images get additional volume discounts up to 25%.
Is your clipping path service manual or AI-based?
100% manual. Every path is hand-drawn by trained editors using the Photoshop pen tool. We never use AI auto-selection, magic wand, or quick selection shortcuts. This ensures razor-sharp edges and pixel-perfect accuracy on every single image.
What is the turnaround time?
Standard turnaround is 6 to 12 hours for most orders. Bulk orders of 1,000+ images are delivered within 24 hours. We also offer rush delivery for urgent projects. Our team operates 24/7, so production never stops.
What's the difference between clipping path and image masking?
Clipping paths work best for subjects with well-defined, hard edges: products, boxes, bottles, and electronics. Image masking is for soft, fuzzy, or transparent edges such as hair, fur, smoke, glass, and fabric. Complex subjects may need a combination of both for the best result.
What file formats do you accept and deliver?
We accept JPG, PNG, TIFF, PSD, AI, EPS, and RAW files. We deliver in any format you need: transparent PNG, PSD with embedded path, multi-clipping-path PSD for color variants, or TIFF with clipping path for print production.
Can you handle bulk orders?
Absolutely. We handle bulk orders from 100 to 11000+ images per month. Our production team scales to match your volume with consistent quality and on-time delivery. Enterprise clients get dedicated account managers and custom rates.
Do you offer free trial edits?
Yes! We offer 2 free trial edits with no credit card required. Send us your images, tell us what you need, and we’ll deliver finished samples within 24 hours. See our quality in your photos, not just our portfolio samples.
